Occupied. Very. Keeping myself busy.

Crying, talking to Chui Yi over the phone, eating, jogging, perspiring in the sun, playing the guitar, meeting Jessica for lunch, celebrating my mum's birthday, shopping, laughing, finding Yaohao at his dad's coffeeshop, webcaming with Wei Chen from Taiwan, printing loads of photographs from my computer, cycling on Pulau Ubin with Imperial friends and Jessica. Those were some of the things that I had done in the past seven days ever since I touched down in Singapore. So much things had happened in so short a time. And there shall be more things coming up for the next few months. Keep me occupied (and happy). Please. I don't want to think.

Events lining up on the next few days:
18/03 class chalet/BBQ at Downtown East tomorrow.
Going Granny's place on Saturday.
Going to my cousin's house on Sunday to celebrate his twin baby daughters' first month birthday.
Steamboat dinner with Imperial friends on Sunday at Marina South.
Attachment at Home Team Academy from Monday to Friday.

Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K.

The best part of this trip was the taking of numerous interesting group photographs, with or without the help of other human beings. Here are some nice shots :)

Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K.

Just came back to London from Edinburgh by Great North Eastern Railways yesterday night. Here are some of the photos captured on my camera during my 3d/2n trip. Most group photos are in another of my friend's camera so I don't have them now. Will upload some of the interesting group photos when I get them from my friends. So meanwhile, enjoy the photos! =)

Rings a bell? It's the nine and three-quarters platform from Harry Potter at London King's Cross Station!

Exams are over!

Now that the exams are over, I am hoping that I am still having my exams now. Came home straight after my last paper today to cook taosuan for my friends for lunch and packed 75% of my stuff after that in preparation to move out. If not for my friends who helped me carry most of my heavy luggage to another friend's house to store for the summer today, I would have simply died moving house. I still have two big heavy cardboard boxes full of stuff in my room now and several duffel bags. If I had a choice, I would rather have my exams than to move house. But on the other hand, IF I had another choice, I would rather do neither. Haha. My arms are slightly aching now. Will be making another trip down to my friend's house to unload cargo at 11pm later (apparently, it's after the world cup). I am totally bushed.

Going back to kindergarten

I woke up this morning not knowing how to read the time. I had set my alarm to ring at 7am but I was wondering why my alarm didn't. Only after changing battery and fiddling with my alarm clock for about 10 minutes then did I realised that the time was only 5.20am and not 7.20am. My mind has been programmed to assume the time even though I was looking at the clock. I guess I haven't read time for a very long time and my brain has forgotten how to read it. I usually take a glance at the time and my brain processes this information to assume the time based on the intensity of light coming through my room. It surprised me that I actually took so long to realise the mistake my brain has made.

Couldn't really sleep last night. Maybe I will just take a nap later...

Two more papers to go!

One word to describe myself in the exam today. Suay. Today's paper required me to choose 4 questions out of 7 in 3 hours. I chose a wrong question to attempt. The question that I attempted was so laborious and time-consuming that I didn't have sufficient time to complete it. When I looked at another question which I did not attempt after the exam, I realised that I could have solved it in 15 minutes and scored full marks. Suay. But this is life.

Two more papers to go on next Tuesday and Wednesday and I will be free! Free to watch any IMAX movie from the Science Museum, free to shop from dawn to dusk and free to spend as much time as I want in Hyde Park lying on the grass. Hehe.. How I wish I could fast-forward my life to next Wednesday now. Fat hope.

Realised that I have been becoming more and more lethargic and lazy these few days. Okay, I am going to take a nap now. Bye!

In the darkness of the toilet....

The shared toilet light on my floor has spoilt and I have filed a defect report yesterday. Until the light is fixed, I would have to use the toilet in complete darkness (a very weird feeling actually). Was pretty pissed last night when the blogspot server was down for maintenance after I had finished writing a pretty long entry. As expected, the entry was gone after I clicked 'publish' and an error message came out. Sigh... I am not going to retype everything out again so you have missed another blog entry.

The weather has changed for the better! It's no longer raining and not as cold as a week before. I can even perspire now. Hope this beautiful weather stays until I leave for Singapore.

I will be having my third last exam on Thermodynamics tomorrow. I have finished revising for it but I haven't done any past year examination questions on it yet. One more week to go and I will moving most of my barang barang to a friend's flat to store for the summer as my flat's lease is only for 9 months. Things can't get more exciting!

The EEE people ended their exams yesterday. Now, almost none of them are in London. Jeremy's in Poland with Daryl, Hockboon and Eda; Yaohao, Guangfan, Eddie, Bingwen, Xiaoen and Charlene are in Denmark now. My entire Linstead dinner table people are gone! Haha..

Okay, enough of crap. I'm going to eat some breakfast and keep my laptop soon. Bye!

My Year in United Kingdom (late 2005-mid 2006)

I have:

1) Never drunk alcohol (and I don't intend to anyway).
2) Never been to a club or pub. (Maybe I'll just go once to take a look)
3) Never bought raw potatoes to cook. (I just don't like to cook potatoes)
4) Never travelled outside of U.K. (No chance to actually)
5) Never been to a ball/ extravagant dinner-and-dance/prom nite equivalent. (No money and time)
6) Never washed my curtains. (Who does actually, except Yaohao during Chinese New Year? Haha...)

Have I missed out a lot?

Another blog entry...

Overslept for dinner just now until Guangfan called my room to wake me up from my slumber. Totally knocked out after blogging my previous entry. Slept at 4am this morning and woke up at 8am. Maybe this explains for the stupid careless mistakes in my paper today and my jaw ache. I think I just heard my Indian neighbour playing a chinese pop song from her room!?

By the way, the song that I am playing now, Home by Michael Buble, truely describes my feeling now. Okay enough of crap. Going to study soon. :)

Stupid Wisdom Tooth

My stupid wisdom tooth is giving jaw ache again! My jaw now aches whenever I eat, yawn and laugh. Sigh... Hope it goes away on its own and I don't need to operate to remove my wisdom tooth.

This same wisdom tooth was badly inflammed just before I came to London. But, after the dentist described the procedure of the operation to remove my wisdom tooth to me, I was intimidated and declined to be operated upon. Nevertheless, the dentist warned me that the problem would recur and taking antibiotics and pain-killers could only be a short-term solution.

Heck. I just need to bear with it. Made a lot of unforgivable careless mistakes in my heat and mass transfer answers today. Forgot to convert the units of heat duty from kilojoules per hour to kilowatts which affected other parts in my calculations, and instead of taking the radius of the pipe and lagging to be the radius of the pipe plus the thickness of the lagging, I took the radius of the pipe and lagging to be the thickness of the lagging. Argh... Dumb right? I can't believe it man.

My next paper is Process Analysis on Wednesday. 4 more papers to go and I can play!

Counting down....

18 more days to flying home
13 more days to Edinburgh
11 more days to Brighton
10 more days to my last paper
1 more day to my next paper

Sigh... Reality sets in again. Gotta study already. Bye! :)

Looking at the larger picture

I blame myself for being easily agitated and failing to see the larger picture when my mind is clouded by too many tiny little things. Words do hurt as much as physical injury and I apologise for my harsh entry this morning. Hope everything will be reverted back to normal. *smiles*

Learning to be appreciative...

Just realised that I have taken too many things for granted and not knowing their worth. But, I am learning to be appreciative from now onwards. Today is another fresh new day. Cya... Going for a jog now!
